Safety is a top prior at Contemporary. Our Safety Director Nathan McCrea is a Graduate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s highly regarded Safety Sciences program. He currently holds a CHST ( Construction Safety and Health Technician) and ASP (Associate Safety Professional) certifications. Nate and the Contemporary team realize that their greatest resource is its workforce, and we devote all resources necessary to protecting our employees, as well as the entire construction team, in all facets of electrical and jobsite safety.

In order to make sure all Contemporary employee’s are properly trained on safety procedures, we provide comprehensive training to all employees at the commencement of their employment. We are also providing continuous and continuing education training to retained employees in all aspects of safety that meet or exceed expectations of our customers, and those recommended by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), along with The National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) guidelines.

We at Contemporary feel that one accident is one too many, and are very proactive in safety prevention from the start of any project. Nate works with our foreman and key managers, as well as the customer, to survey all projects at their commencement to develop a plan for the safety of that particular project. Nate continues to monitor active projects to ensure that the safety facets of the project are in order at all times, and in accordance with the safety plan for the project as originally designed. Nate provides company management with comprehensive safety reporting of jobsites, which allows the entire Contemporary team to remain aware of status, and ensure compliance with our high standards.

As validation to the hard work of Nate and our managers, Contemporary Electrical currently holds an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 0.69, down from an EMR of 0.75 in both 2022 and 2023. We are committed to maintaining this impressive record in the years to come!
