Chris Broadbent and his brother Scott established Contemporary Electrical Services in 1989. Chris and Scott are very proud of having grown the company over the course of 30 years, and they feel especially rewarded in having multiple family members now working on the Contemporary team. Many of the key employees on the Contemporary team are either family members, or employees who have become part of the Contemporary family with over 20 years of service. Chris and Scott feel employee retention has been a key to their success, and look forwarded to welcoming other key employees, and family members, as we continue to grow and expand. Chris and Scott are also proud of the company’s history of charitable giving, as well as sponsorship and support of sports teams and other local activities in which they feel are important to them and the area.

Chris Broadbent grew up in the Baltimore area, and graduated from the University of Richmond with a degree in Business Administration. Chris and his wife Allison live in Ashburn, Virginia, and have three children. Kyle, Amanda and Logan are all part of the CES team and work as project managers. Besides living in Ashburn, Chris and Allison have a home at Deep Creek Lake, where they enjoy spending weekends with family and friends.

Scott Broadbent, Jr. grew up in the Baltimore area, and is also a graduate of the University of Richmond. Scott and his wife Alisa live in Great Falls with their young sons Alex and Austin. Besides living in Great Falls, Scott and Alisa have a home in Fells Point, Baltimore, and enjoy spending weekends in Fells Point with family and friends.

Chris and Scott expect to continue to lead Contemporary for many years to come, but look forward to stepping back over time to allow for younger members of the family, and other key employees, to grow into leadership roles. The goal for Chris and Scott is to eventually hand over control of the company to these key employees, and feel satisfied that they were the founding members of a family business that will continue to serve the Washington Metropolitan area for decades to come!
